🌿 Land Stewardship
The Homestead’s large lots, mature oaks, and open Hill Country landscape are central to what makes our community unique. Protecting that natural character requires thoughtful care and informed decision-making.
Land stewardship means taking responsibility not just for our individual properties, but for the long-term health of the neighborhood as a whole. The information below is intended to help residents preserve the beauty, value, and ecological health of The Homestead for generations to come.
🌳 Oak Wilt
Oak wilt is one of the most serious threats to oak trees in Central Texas. With many mature live oaks and red oaks throughout The Homestead, awareness and prevention are essential to protecting our shared canopy.
The disease spreads through interconnected root systems and by beetles attracted to fresh tree wounds. Early detection and proper pruning practices can significantly reduce the risk of spread.
