📬 Getting Connected in The Homestead
The Homestead is a community where neighbors stay informed, help one another, and actively participate in neighborhood life. Whether you’re new to the neighborhood or just looking to stay more connected, the resources below will help you plug in.
📧 Neighborhood Email List
The primary way residents communicate is through our neighborhood email list.
What it’s used for:
- Community updates and announcements
- Event information (Chili Cook-Off, Oktoberfest, etc.)
- Recommendations and local questions
- Important alerts (weather, road conditions, etc.)
How to Join:
- Email Brian Bledsoe at bbledsoe [at] gmail [dot] com
- Include a copy of a recent utility bill to verify you live in the neighborhood (The Homestead or Meadowfox)
- If you don't want to receive emails immediately, as they are sent, be sure to mention that you would like to receive daily summary emails -- See "Note" below.
Once joined, you’ll receive and can participate in neighborhood-wide communications.
Note: You have the option of choosing "Daily Digest Summaries" for your email delivery. Instead of receiving emails when they are posted, you will receive one email every 24 hours (typically just before 8 p.m.) that contains that day’s messages, with a list of email subjects linked at the top of the summary email. This is a great way for busy people to stay informed without receiving emails directly, throughout the day. Quickly scan the list of subjects and click on any that you may be interested in, to read the full email. Skip the rest. Easy.

The Homestead Social Committee organizes several annual events, including:
- Chili Cook-Off
- Oktoberfest
- Halloween Hay Ride
- Holiday Caroling

These events are a great way to meet neighbors and get involved.
