It is a great event to meet & greet your fellow Homesteaders while enjoying German Fest music, German beers, brats, pulled pork BBQ, and delicious sides and desserts made here in the hood.
This year there will be 4 German style beers from Altstadt Brewery in Fredericksburg.
Attendees need to bring a side dish or dessert along with lawn chairs and folding tables. Neighbors are also encouraged to bring a 6 pack of craft beer for the community cooler. Bottled water will also be available.
Setup is at the cul-de-sac at the end of Byrds Nest & Ottenhome at 3:00 PM and the festivities kick off at 6:00 PM.
Brats & BBQ will be served between 6:30 and 7:00 PM depending on how the crowd gathers.
The Homestead Social Fund is taking care of the hard costs of the ice, beer, water, brats, & pulled pork, etc, while Liesel and I cook and provide the labor. This is a great time to make a donation to the fund. Terri Mitchell will be there to collect any cash or checks.
We need an accurate count of adults & children so we can purchase the right amount of brats & pork shoulders for the BBQ.
We need a volunteer to help keep the brats & pulled pork warmers full during serving time.
